There are three main health insurance entities sponsored by the government: Medicare (federal), Medicaid (state), and Tricare (military). Because not all Americans are eligible for each program, comparing individual plan benefits is more complicated. MEDICARE AND MEDIGAP

For people 65 years of age and older or with certain qualifying disabilities or chronic conditions.

For current and former members of the United States military, Reserve, National Guard, and their families
